Description. When this parameter is active, a Grade can be associated with rooms that are marked as "Can Be Unit". A Grade associated with a unit will be used to determine the room display order in the Room Assignment and Room Plan screens in conjunction with the setting in the Room Order Preference for Units application setting.

Property Determination. Activation of this application parameter enables a property to further enable both the property and the owner as a higher quality unit assures a higher level of guest satisfaction and return on business.

When this application parameter is set to Y, the Reservations>Room Order Preference for Units application setting value is automatically updated based on the following: If the value is currently set to ROOMS WITH POINTS FIRST, then the message will display as "The parameter setting for Room Order Preference for Units in the Reservations Group will be updated from Rooms with Points First to Rooms with Grade First." But if the value is currently set to ROOMS WITH POINTS LAST, then the message will display as "The parameter setting for Room Order Preference for Units in the Reservations Group will be updated from Rooms with Points Last to Rooms with Grade Last." Should this application parameter be set to N, then a reversal of the two above messages is displayed. |

When activating this application parameter, the following message prompt is displayed for notification that grades must be assigned to all units that are selected as Can Be Unit.

After selecting OK on the previous message prompt, one of the following messages is displayed as notification that the Reservations>Room Order Preference for Units application setting will have its values automatically updated based on the value that is currently set for it. If the value is currently set to ROOMS WITH POINTS FIRST, then the message will display as "The parameter setting for Room Order Preference for Units in the Reservations Group will be updated from Rooms with Points First to Rooms with Grade First." But if the value is currently set to ROOMS WITH POINTS LAST, then the message will display as "The parameter setting for Room Order Preference for Units in the Reservations Group will be updated from Rooms with Points Last to Rooms with Grade Last." Should this application parameter be set to N, then a reversal of the two above messages is displayed. |
Example
The following example is based on the Reservations>Room Order Preference for Units application setting being defined as Rooms with Grade First and Room Display Order for Non-Units set as Ascending. OPERA will order Grades by the sequence numbers in the Unit Grade configuration screen, lowest to highest. Rooms with the same Grade will be ordered by Rotation Points, lowest to highest (For the Rotation point order to function all Room Types that include Units have to be set up for Rotation. Configuration>Ownership>Rotation Setup).
