Creating a deployment instance
- In the Project Explorer, select Study Information.
- Select a study.
- Select the Deployment Setup tab.
- On the toolbar, click New (
).The New Deployment Instance dialog box appears.
- In the Name field, type the RefName of the deployment instance.
- In the Type drop-down list list, select the type of deployment instance:
- UAT—User acceptance testing
- QA—Quality assurance
- DEV—Development
- LIVE—Production
- TRN—Training
- In the URL field, type the URL for the machine on which to deploy the InForm study.
- In the Port field, type the port used to query for deployment status. The default port is 14040 for HTTPS, and 80 for HTTP.
Note: You can add one deployment instance for each server type.
- To require deployment approval for the deployment instance, select the Approvals Required checkbox.
Note: This option is available only if you configured the Central Designer application to allow a user to override the default setting for the type of server. For more information, see the Administrator Guide.
- In the Description field, type a description for the deployment instance.
- Click OK.
- Optionally, to test the deployment instance URL:
- Select the URL.
- Click the Test URL button on the toolbar.
A message appears with the test results.
Note: To reference a deployment instance in a deployment request, the deployment instance must not have any unsaved changes.
