New Features in This Release

For new features relating to installation, architecture, and deployment changes in this release, see “New Features in this Release” in the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Readme.

If you are applying the maintenance release from Release,,, or, use the Cumulative Feature Overview tool to review the list of new features added between those releases. This tool enables you to identify your current products, your current release version, and your target implementation release version. With a single click, the tool quickly produces a customized set of high-level descriptions of the product features developed between your current and target releases. This tool is available here:

Support for a new Profitability and Cost Management Application Type - In this release of Performance Management Architect, there is a new Management Ledger application type for Profitability and Cost Management applications. A Management Ledger application contains costs and revenue dimensions and members that are similar to your organization's general ledger. Management Ledger applications offer management reporting and data modeling that is similar to Oracle General Ledger or Oracle Hyperion Financial Management applications. You can perform allocations and other calculations required for management reporting using a more free-form approach than is supported in Standard Profitability applications.

Known Issues

The following are the noteworthy known issues of this release.

  • 20200030 -- Need the ability to bypass the validation of the member-level DataStorage property for EssbaseASO applications. The workaround is to override member-level DataStorage property for EssbaseASO applications.

  • 19791404 -- Orphaned members are not deleted as expected from shared dimensions if the member list has been reordered.

  • 19374599 -- EPM Architect jobs marked as hidden are not shown in the Library Job Console, even when the filter option Show Hidden Jobsis selected.

  • 19370940 -- There is no validation check for the same alias values with a different case being present in the Attribute dimension.

  • 18970342 -- You may be unable to map the Members from Data Relationship Management to EPM Architect because random digits are created as a suffix for Custom 1-4 Top Member & Enable Custom 1-4 Aggregation Property Name.

  • 17365205 -- When running Compare to Deployed Application, shows member as moved though it is added using Insert Shared Member as child, which should show as added instead of moved.

  • 17229508, 14731832-- When attempting to utilize the EPM Architect File Generator in Excel 2010 64-bit, you will receive the following error: Error Message: Compile error in hidden module: frmFlatFileGeneration. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, platform, or architecture of this application.

  • 16984252 -- There is a display issue in the Dimension Library for member names that begin with %FA, which displays as a u character with an accent above it. The member deploys and displays correctly in Planning. The workaround is to rename the member to get back the % character; further member name gets displayed correctly in Hyperion Planning after deployment.

  • 19779623 -- Sharing only local base account dimension with existing account dimension results with below error: The following error occurred: No dimension association found for property 'CustomTopMember1057'.

  • 19275948 -- Validating or executing data sync definition also changes the data sync Last Modified time stamp which it should not. Also the Last Modified time stamp value will always shows higher value than the Last Synchronized time stamp.

  • 17182603 -- Two different attribute dimensions having associations with two base dimensions (Entity and Generic dimensions) are using same attribute property.

  • 17739405 -- Importing the EPM Architect Financial Management application Life Cycle Management artifacts of into the which contains the Account as local dimension and custom dimensions as shared dimensions throws import error does not create dimension association. The workaround is: 1. Go to Shared Service console 2. Go to File System node. 3. Select HFM related dimensions under Shared Library Dimensions 4. Also select HFM application, by going to Application Metadata then expand Consolidation applications. 5. Now import by the selected artifacts, which will import successfully.

  • 16817865 -- Unable to import the calculation management artifacts from to because support for calculation manager artifacts in EPM Architect LCM was removed.

  • 16863069 -- Lifecycle Management imported Essbase applications from to cannot deploy. The workaround is: 1. Right-click the Essbase application from application Library and select Edit. 2. Ensure that the application is displayed in Dimension Library. 3. Right-click the application name and select Dimension Performance Settings. 4. Sort the order of the dimensions and click OK. Application deployment should succeed.

Details: The 'input' start tag on line 76 position 30 does not match the end tag of 'div'. Line 78, position 27.”

  • 16581357 -- You may be unable to launch a data synchronization from a Planning application to an Essbase block storage application or from a flat file to a Profitability and Cost Management application when you are working on a Solaris operating system with applications upgraded from Release to

  • 16586581 -- When you try to redeploy an Essbase aggregate storage application on a Solaris operating system after upgrading from Release to, the redeployment may fail and generate the following error in the Job Console: “Error. • 14731832 -- When you run the Performance Management Architect File Generator from Microsoft Excel on a Windows 2008 server, you may receive the following error message: Compile error in hidden module; frmFlatFileGeneration. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, platform, or architecture of this application. Click Help for information on how to correct this error.

  • 16317010 -- You may be unable to run a Data Sync task for an Essbase application after you upgrade from to this release. To fix this issue, run the Application Diagnostic Tool on the application in the Application Library.

  • 11073557 -- Links are not shown on the Data Sync page for users who have Mcafee HIPS.

  • 13772846 -- After performing a schema upgrade from earlier releases to, when you run a CompareTODeployedApplicationtask, results may indicate that Financial Management custom Account members have property differences (for example, Custom Top Member and Enable Custom Aggregation), although there are no property differences.

  • 13779161, 13787993 -- After performing schema upgrade from to, in which the upgrade exists separately from, when you validate an Essbase aggregate storage or a Oracle Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management application, you may receive a validation warning message letting you know that the default values for some of the members' properties have changed, and because of this, you should run a CompareTODeployedApplication task so you know which members' properties have changed. When you run this task, the changed properties found may differ from the changed properties shown in the validation warning message.

  • 13865990 -- In a Unix or Linux environment, when you perform a data synchronization between Essbase aggregate storage applications or between an Essbase aggregate storage and an Essbase block storage application, the data synchronization runs successfully, and data is copied successfully, but some decimal values may be added to whole numbers.

  • 13866730 -- Support for duplicate outlines is required so members defined as shared in Oracle Hyperion EPM Architect are created as duplicate members in Oracle Essbase.
