Scheduling or running a deployment from the InForm user interface

You can deploy only one study package at a time from the InForm user interface. The request to deploy fails if another deployment has been scheduled or is currently running. The automated deployment process creates a log file and saves a copy of the deployment package.

  1. Ensure that the deployment package has been created and is available locally on your machine.
  2. In the navigation toolbar, click Deployment.

    The Deployment page appears. For a description of the fields on this page, see Deployment page.

  3. Select a deployment package.
    1. Click Browse / Choose File.

      The Choose File to Upload / Open dialog box appears.

    2. Select the study package that you want to deploy, and click Open.

      The name of the deployment package you selected appears in the Deployment Package field.

  4. Schedule a time and date to deploy the study package.
    1. Click in the Scheduled Time field.

      A calendar control appears.

    2. Do one of the following:
      • To run the deployment package immediately, click Now, and then click Done.

        or

      • To run the deployment package at a later date and time, select the appropriate date and time options, and then click Done.

      The Upload button becomes active.

    Note: For live studies only, if you choose to run the deployment package immediately, or at a time that is within 5 minutes of the current server time, the deployment is delayed for 5 minutes. This allows you time to cancel the deployment, if necessary. You cannot cancel a deployment after it starts. For more information, see Canceling a scheduled deployment.

  5. Click Upload.

    The deployment package file name appears on the Deployment page with a status of Scheduled.
