Item or itemset criticality overrides

The following criteria apply to item and itemset overrides set using the Partial SV user interface and MedML.

  1. If an override exists, it is applied over the study default.
  2. You cannot set an override of the same state as the study default on an item.

For example, if the study default is critical for an item, you cannot set the override value to be critical on one form or all forms. The reverse is true for applying a not critical override on an item with a study default of not critical.

  3. Only one override is allowed per item, form, site, and subject combination at a given time.

For example, if an override of critical is applied to item1 on form1 at site1 for all subjects, then this removes the previous override for item1 on form1 at site1 for all subjects.

  4. Reverting to the study default removes any subjects currently applied for that item as a subset.

You cannot apply a subset of subjects to a study default.

  5. If you change the override from All Forms to a specific form, the InForm application removes the All Forms override and only applies the new override to the specific forms chosen.

The other forms revert back to their study default state.

  6. After an override is applied to an item/form/site/subject combination, all other overrides are removed for that particular item/form/site/subject combination.
  7. All criticality settings for item/form/site/subject combinations that are not explicitly overridden revert back to their study default value.
  8. If a new study default is installed for an item, then all overrides related to that item are removed.

This applies to study version and in-place revision changes.

  9. You cannot override an override.

An override is only compared to the study default value, not to a previous override setting. Only one override allowed.
