Duplicate a Folder


After completing this topic, you will be able to duplicate a folder.


Steps:

  1. You will create a duplicate copy of the WP folder.

     

    Note: The WordPad Training outline, located in the WP folder, links to documents in the WP folder structure and documents stored in several other folders in the Library.

    Step 1
  2. Select the folder you want to copy.

     

    Click the WP folder.

  3. Use the toolbar to copy the selected folder.

     

    Click the Copy button.

  4. Select the destination folder in the Folders pane.

     

    Click the Duplicate Folder folder.

  5. Use Paste Special to duplicate the copied folder.

     

    Click the Edit menu.

  6. Click the Paste Special command.

  7. Paste a duplicate of the folder with related documents.

     

    Click the Duplicate (selection and related) list item.

  8. Disable the Duplicate Glossaries option.

     

    Click the Duplicate Glossaries option to deselect it.

  9. Click the View related documents link.

  10. The Related Documents window shows the documents that are related to the content in the WP folder, but reside outside of the folder structure.

     

    Click the Close button.

  11. Click the OK button.

  12. Expand the selected folder using the toolbar button.

     

    Click the Expand button.

  13. The Developer duplicates the folder structure and documents in the copied folder and creates duplicate folders for those linked documents that are stored outside of the copied folder.

  14. View the contents of the Excel/Introduction folder.

     

    Click the Duplicate Folder/Excel/Introduction folder.

  15. This folder contains duplicate copies of two topics stored outside of the WP folder structure, but linked to the content as See Also documents.
