Create a Custom Frame Link Icon


After completing this topic, you will be able to create a custom icon.


Steps:

  1. Create a new package.

     

    Click the File menu.

  2. Point to the New command.

  3. Click the Package command.

  4. Add the Key.gif file from the Training Files\Images and Logos folder.

     

    Click the Add Files button.

  5. To save time we have browsed to the Training Files\Images and Logos folder for you.

  6. Select the graphic file for the icon.

     

    Click the key.gif file.

  7. Click the Open button.

  8. Save the package using the File menu.

     

    Click the File menu.

  9. Click the Save command.

  10. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter "Key".

  11. Save the package to the System/Icons/Custom folder.

     

    Double-click the System folder.

  12. Double-click the Icons folder.

  13. Double-click the Custom folder.

  14. Click the Save button.

  15. Close the Package Editor.

     

    Click the Close button.

  16. We have checked in the new Key package.

     

    After creating a new icon, you should check in the package to make it available to other authors.

  18. Change the icon for the Open.png package link.

     

    Click the Icon list for the graphic package.

  19. Notice that the new custom icon appears in the Icon list.

     

    Note: You may need to close the Developer and restart it before a new icon appears in the Icon list.
