Bookmarks have two parts: the bookmark name and the descriptive text in angled brackets (<>). The entire bookmark is enclosed in grey square brackets ([ ]). To display the grey brackets, you must turn on all formatting marks, plus select the Show bookmarks option under the Show document content section on the Advanced page of the Word Options dialog box in Microsoft Word. This is important, because if you want to move a bookmark, you need to make sure that you select the entire bookmark.
