Clicking a theme adds the theme to all slides in the topic. You probably do not want to do this as it would obstruct the view of the frame screenshots. Instead, you can right-click a theme and apply it to the selected slide only.
If you accidentally apply the theme to all slides, use the Undo button in the Quick Access Toolbar in PowerPoint.
