View Related Attachments


After completing this topic, you will be able to view related attachments.


Steps:

  1. You can use the Related Documents toolpane to see which attachments and other documents link to or from a document. Open the Related Documents toolpane.

     

    Click the View menu.

  2. Point to the Panes command.

  3. Click the Related Documents command.

  4. The documents in the top section of the Related Documents toolpane are the child documents that directly link to the selected document, in this case, the WordPad Training module.

     

    In addition to the child modules that link to the root document, the WordPad Training module also links to the Standard style sheet, the Standard English template, and the WordPad Terms glossary.

  5. Click the Document Basics module to view the linked documents.

  6. The top section shows the child documents (outline documents and attachments) and the style sheet, template, and glossary directly linked to the Document Basics module.

     

    The bottom section shows any parent documents that link to the Document Basics module; in this case, the WordPad Training module.

  7. Click the Creating and Opening Documents section to view the documents and attachments that link to this section.

  8. Click the Opening a Document topic to view the documents and attachments that link to this section.

  9. Notice that the document links in the top section include the frame link attachments (the Existing doc msg web page and the Graphics2 package) and the bubble text link (the Browse web page). It also includes the Concept and Tip icons used in the bubble for the frame links.

     

    The Opening a Document topic holds the links, and is the parent, for all of these documents.

  10. Click the Printing a Document topic to view the documents and attachments that link to this section.

  11. The three topics that link to the Printing a Document topic through the See Also property are considered child documents and are listed in the top section of the Related Documents toolpane.

  12. You can use the Related Document toolpane to open or find linked documents. Find the Printing a Selected Range topic in the Library.

     

    Click the Printing a Selected Range topic.

  13. Click the Find in Library button.

  14. The Developer switches to the document in the Library. Note that the Related Documents toolpane provides link information about the current document from any editor.

  15. Close the Related Document toolpane.

     

    Click the Related Documents object.
