Content defaults act as a default set of properties for the creation of new frames and web pages. When the content defaults are changed, any existing content is not affected.


These defaults must be set on each individual workstation and should be done before you begin development. You do not have to change the original default settings in the Developer; changing these defaults is a matter of choice to create the "look" you want for the content. Consistency is the key element. After deciding on a standard set of content defaults and creating them in the Developer, you should export these defaults and distribute the export (.ops) file to the other authors developing content.


Certain changes that are highly recommended are indicated as such in the sections below.


Note: When choosing font and background color defaults, it is recommended that you choose web safe options. For example, Arial is a font style widely used in web page development. For web pages, the safest choice is to select a predefined font family, which includes a group of multiple fonts that have similar characteristics.
