Link a New Section


After completing this topic, you will be able to link a new section.


Steps:

  1. Select the parent document to which you want to link a new section.

     

    Click the Applying Formatting module.

  2. Use the menu to link a new section to the Applying Formatting module.

     

    Click the Link menu.

  3. Click the New Section command.

  4. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter "Formatting Paragraphs".

  5. Press [Enter].

  6. Link a new section to the Document Basics module.

     

    Click the Document Basics module.

  7. You can also link a new section using the context menu or the toolbar. In this example, we will use the toolbar.

     

    Click the Link New Section button.

  8. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter "Creating and Opening Documents".

  10. You can link a section to a module or a section. Link a new section to the Creating and Opening Documents section.

  12. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter "Templates".

  14. Notice that the icon for the parent document, the Creating and Opening Documents section, has changed from a blue page to a blue book now that a child document links to it.
