Restore a Deleted Document from the Outline Editor

After completing this topic, you will be able to restore a deleted document from the Outline Editor.

Steps:

1. Click the Inserting Dates and Objects broken link in the outline.

   Step 1

2. The broken links for the section also include a topic and a web page.

    

   Notice that the Concept pane indicates that the document cannot be found.

   Step 2

3. Restore the Inserting Dates and Objects section.

    

   Click the Edit menu.

   Step 3

4. Click the Restore command.

   Step 4

5. Restore the selection and related documents.

    

   Click the Restore my selection and related documents option.

   Step 5

6. Click the OK button.

   Step 6

7. The section, topic, and web page documents are restored and no longer appear with broken link icons in the outline.

   Step 7

8. The web page path in the Concept pane shows that the web page is restored to the Attachments folder.

    

   Note: Although the restored documents still appear in the Broken Links pane, they will not appear the next time you select the Inserting the Dates and Objects section.

   Step 8

9. Switch to the Library.

    

   Click the Library tab.

   Step 9

10. The restored section and topic appear in their original folder.

    Step 10
