Publish for a Document Output


After completing this topic, you will be able to publish content to a document output.


Steps:

  1. The Opening a Document and Saving a Document as a New File topics are selected.

  2. Publish the selected topics using the toolbar button.

     

    Click the Publish button.

  3. Publish the selected content to the same publishing destination and replace the old content.

     

    Click the Next > button.

  4. Click the Publish selection only option.

  5. Click the Next > button.

  6. Click the Next > button to publish local content.

  7. Replace the old content.

     

    Click the Continue button.

  8. Choose the Training Guide as the only publishing format.

     

    Click the Player and LMS check box to deselect it.

  9. Click the Training Guide check box.

  10. The Publishing Wizard uses the Training Guide settings from the Options dialog box as the default for publishing.

     

    However, for the published output, we want to exclude alternatives and publish only one screenshot per topic.

  11. Click the Include alternatives option to deselect it.

  12. Change the publishing option to include only one screenshot per topic.

     

    Click the Include screenshots list.

  15. When the publishing is complete, click the link to open the publishing folder.

     

    Click the C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Documents\User Productivity Kit\Publishing Content\Training Guide link.

  16. Double-click the WordPad Training_TRAIN.docx file to open the Training Guide.

  17. Scroll down to view the document.

     

    Press [Page Down].

  18. Notice the Table of Contents. Continue scrolling the document pages.

     

    Press [Page Down].

    The procedure includes the screenshot for the Introduction frame.

    The glossary includes the web page links for the terms "document" and "file" and the package image for the term "memo".

  23. Close Microsoft Word and the document.

     

    Click the Close button.

  25. Click Finish to close the Publishing Complete dialog box.
