About Load Balancing Configuration

Load balancing is implemented by the HP-UX multipathing driver.

Load balancing is configured and managed using the scsimgr command on the host. Refer to the HP white paper Native Multi-Pathing for Mass Storage (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01906512/c01906512.pdf) for more information on configuring load balancing.

On an Oracle FS System, the load balancing setting being used by the HP-UX features is displayed in the Oracle FS System Manager GUI, but you cannot change it from the GUI.

On Pillar Axiom systems, the setting displayed in the GUI is not related to the setting being used by the HP-UX multipathing features. The GUI allows you to change the setting, but the value set in the GUI is ignored.

Review the Oracle FS System Release Notes for updated references to HP-UX documentation.
