Install or Update the FSPM Software

Install the software that you extracted to your SAN host so you can use Oracle FS Path Manager (FSPM).

Prerequisite:

Before you install the FSPM software, verify that your system meets all hardware and software prerequisites mentioned earlier in this document.

You can install the full FSPM installation package or just the parameter file. You would install the full package if you are initially installing FSPM or you want to reinstall FSPM. If your Linux Multipathing tools have changed, then you might need to install a new parameter file.
  1. Install the FSPM package and parameter file.
To install the product package and the parameter file at the same time, enter one of the following commands depending upon the software package you downloaded.
Note: In the command, version is the name of the software package release you downloaded. For example, oracle-fspm-4.0.0–1.i486.rpm or oracle-fspm-4.0.0–1.x86_64.rpm.
    # rpm -Uvh oracle-fspm-version.i486.rpm oracle-fspm-params-version.noarch.rpm
    # rpm -Uvh oracle-fspm-version.x86_64.rpm oracle-fspm-params-version.noarch.rpm
FSPM files and scripts are installed in the /opt/oracle directory.
  2. To replace or update the parameter file, enter the following:

In the command, version is the name of the software product release you downloaded.

    For example, oracle-fspm-params-4.0.0–1.noarch.rpm

    # rpm -Uvh oracle-fspm-params-version.noarch.rpm
