FSPM and Clustering

Oracle FS Path Manager (FSPM) can be used in a cluster environment. Refer to the operating system for information on cluster requirements and support. Additional information to support FSPM in a cluster environment is presented here.

FSPM can be used in a cluster environment with Microsoft supported configurations. FC, FCoE, iSCSI, and Oracle Fabric Interconnect are supported for use with FSPM and clustering if the components are both: certified by Microsoft for use with clustering and supported by FSPM as described in this manual.

The cluster environment must be set up and working before you install the FSPM for Windows software.

For information on setting up a cluster environment on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, refer to the Microsoft Failover Clusters (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732488(v=ws.10).aspx).
Note: FSPM supports the type of clustering Microsoft refers to as failover clustering.

For information on setting up a cluster environment on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2, refer to the Microsoft Failover Clustering Overview (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831579.aspx).
