Follow this procedure to use the Microsoft iSCSI initiator to make iSCSI connections using NICs or HBAs.
- Launch the iSCSI initiator.
- On the Discovery tab, click the button to add or discover a target portal, and add the IP address of one of the following:
- A Controller port on each Controller.
- An iSCSI port on the iSCSI-to-FC router that represents the Controller ports.
Result:An entry for each Oracle FS System should be listed on the Targets tab.
- On the Targets tab, select an Oracle FS System or the representation of an Oracle FS System on an iSCSI-to-FC router.
- Click Log On (or Connect).
- Select Automatically Restore this Connection (or Add this connection to the list of Favorite Targets) and Enable Multi-path.
- Click Advanced.
- In the Advanced Settings dialog box, select a Local Adapter, Source IP (or Initiator IP), and Target Portal that represents the ends of the connection you are creating.
Note: Each connection forms a path to the Oracle FS System or Pillar Axiom storage system. You will need to repeat these steps for each possible combination of these fields.
- Click OK to close the Advanced Settings dialog.
- Click OK to close the Log On to Target (or Connect to Target) dialog.
- Repeat Steps 4 through 9 for each available combination of Local Adapter, Source IP (or Initiator IP), and Target Portal, up to a maximum of 32 combinations for each Controller or Slammer.
- Repeat Steps 3 through 10 for each target that represents an Oracle FS System.
