Follow these instructions to install the Oracle FS Path Manager (FSPM) software on the host, if another version of FSPM is not already installed.
If you are updating from a previous version of the software, see the instructions for updating the FSPM software.
- Verify that you have administrator privileges to install the software.
- Close all applications and management applets.
- To install the software, choose one of the following options:
- From Windows Explorer, double-click the name of the FSPM package you downloaded.
- From the command line, run the following command where package_name is the name of the package that you downloaded:
msiexec /i package_name
Result:Either option enables or installs the following components:- Microsoft Mutipath I/O (MPIO) is an optional feature of the operating system which may or may not be enabled. The FSPM installer enables this feature if it is not already enabled.
- The Oracle FS System Device-Specific Module (DSM).
- The FSPM service.
- The sample WMI script.
- If prompted to do so by Windows Server, restart the system. If not, then the installation process is complete.
