Example to Determine the Effect of Adding an Application

This is an example of how to measure Oracle FS System performance to determine if adding an application to the system impacts application performance of other applications.

Before adding an application and after adding an application to a new LUN or existing LUNs, performance data, specifically latency and IOPS, is collected. The data is collected to create a baseline to determine if adding an application impacts performance or causes contention with other applications.

By checking latency and IOPS on existing LUNs, you can determine if data performance is acceptable on the LUNs after adding an application to a new LUN or existing LUNs. If the data performance is not acceptable, you might need to install the application on another LUN or you might need to move the LUN to another Storage Domain.
