You might need to modify the current Quality of Service (QoS) attributes for an auto‑tiered LUN. Modifications include increasing the capacity and allocating space for Clone LUNs. You can also modify the mapping of a LUN as well as change the Controller to which the LUN is assigned. If necessary, you can also convert the auto‑tiered LUN to single‑tier.
You modify a LUN by entering the QoS attributes on the Oracle FS System Manager screen. The Modify LUN screen contains three tabs for entering QoS information and mapping the LUN to a host entry.
(Required) The Quality of Service tab allows you to change the assigned volume group or Storage Domain. You can also create a group if one does not exist. This tab also allows you to customize QoS attributes, including selecting a storage profile, storage class, redundancy, and other properties, depending on the selected parameters. You can also set the capacity limits for the LUN and view the effects that the selected QoS attributes would have on the storage class and overall system storage capacities.
(Optional) The Mapping tab allows you to specify which SAN host entries can access the LUN.
Map the LUN to a SAN host entry using a specific LUN number.
Map all SAN host entries to access the LUN using the same LUN number. This method is not recommended.
(Optional) The Data Protection tab allows you to allocate the storage capacity for the Clone LUNs repository. You can apply unique QoS properties to the Clone LUN repository and increase, but not decrease, the maximum clone capacity of your clone. You can also create a clone schedule to perform data protection at regular intervals.
