Modifying SAN Host Entries

You can modify information about a host including adding an alias name for a host HBA port, enabling the iSCSI host Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) authentication, and setting the HP-UX compatibility option.

You can change the FSPM settings of the FSPM host entries only when FSPM is installed and communicating with the Oracle FS System.

Also, if you have hosts that are running the HP‑UX Operating System, enable the HP‑UX compatibility you can option for these hosts. When this option is enabled, the system presents LUN numbers using the HP‑UX addressing scheme, allowing up to 4095 LUNs. When enabled, the host cannot have a visible LUN using ID 0.

Modify the host by using the following tabbed pages as necessary:
Ports

Allows you to create or modify an HBA port alias and view FC and iSCSI port information.

Oracle FS Path Manager

Allows you to view the installed FSPM version and path manager settings. From this page, you can modify the load balancing settings and view the number of optimized and non-optimized data paths.

iSCSI Access

If you select a host with an iSCSI connection, you can manage the CHAP authorization and grant access to the Oracle FS System.

Advanced

If the SAN host is running the HP‑UX operating system, you can set the HP‑UX compatibility mode option from this page.
