Controller Protocol Statistics Overview Page

Navigation: SAN > Statistics and Trending > Controller Protocols

Displays statistics for storage area network (SAN) protocols. The SAN protocols are either Fibre Channel (FC) or Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI)
Name

Identifies the name of the selected Controller.

Port Type

Identifies the Controller port protocol type, FC, or iSCSI.

Slot Number
Identifies the Controller PCI slot assignment.
Port Number

Identifies the port numbers which are 0 or 1.

Negotiated Speed

Displays the transmission speed in Gbps/second for the port. The transmission speed is negotiated between the HBA or FC switch and the Controller.

Throughput (per Second)
Identifies the throughput in MB/second.
Read
Identifies the read throughput in MB/second.
Write
Identifies the write throughput in MB/second.
I/O Latency

Identifies the time in milliseconds to read or write data.

Displays the following:
Read
Identifies the time to read data in milliseconds.
Write
Identifies the time to write data in milliseconds
Combined
Identifies the combined amount of time to read and write data in milliseconds.
I/O Size

Identifies the average size of the read and write operations.

Commands Received (per Second)

Displays the number of read and write commands received on the Oracle FS System each second over the last sampling period.

Channel Errors Since Activated

Displays the cumulative number of channel errors that have occurred since the Controller was activated.

Collection Period

Identifies the start and end times at which information was last collected from the Oracle FS System. Data is collected for a two-minute period and the data is refreshed every two minutes.

To generate real-time statistics about an FC or iSCSI port, select the port, then select Actions > FC Port Real Time Statistics or iSCSI Port Real Time Statistics. Click Add Graph and select a statistic (you can review the following list for details.

The statistics displayed include:

Read IOPS
Indicates the number of read I/O operations per second.
Write IOPS
Indicates the number of write I/O operations per second.
Total IOPS
Indicates the total number of read and write IOPS.
Read bytes per second
Indicates the rate at which the system has transferred bytes from a drive during read operations.
Write bytes per second
Indicates the rate at which the system has transferred bytes to a drive during write operations.
Total bytes per second
Displays the total number of bytes for read and write operations.
