Configure the Management Interface

Configuring the management interface might involve, for example, specifying the static or dynamic IP addressing method for the Pilot.

You need to choose one of the following options when selecting how you want the Oracle FS System to assign IP addresses:

Enable DHCP
Use if your system assigns IP addresses automatically using a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
Static IP Address
Use to manually configure the IP addresses. Enter the values into the appropriate fields.
Important! When providing static IP addresses for the management interface, be sure that you enter the correct addresses and that the addresses are reachable over the management network. Otherwise, you and management clients will not be able to access the Oracle FS System. If you enter unreachable addresses or have forgotten the addresses, contact Oracle Customer Support to get an encrypted file that can be used to reset the IP addresses to the factory default settings.
  1. Navigate to System > Global Settings > Networking.
  2. Select Actions > Modify.
  3. From the Interfaces tab, select how you want the Oracle FS System to assign IP addresses.
  4. (Optional) Select the Transmit Setting.
Note: When your Ethernet network contains an auto-negotiation feature, leave this option at the default setting, Auto.
  5. Click OK.
