These steps provide an example of how to measure Oracle FS System performance using the Oracle FS System Manager (GUI) to determine if adding an application impacts performance.
Name of the LUNs where the application is installed.
Storage Domain for the application LUN or LUNs and existing LUNs.
The process begins when you capture real-time statistics for the existing LUNs in the Storage Domain before the application is installed and after the application is installed. If new a LUN or LUNs were created for the application, you would capture real-time statistics for the LUN or LUNs after the application is installed.
These steps describe the process for capturing total latency and total IOPS. You would capture this data before you added the application and after you added the application. If a new LUN or LUNs were added for the application, you would capture the data for that LUN or LUNs after the application was installed.
You can view the I/O latency data from the LUNs page.
You can select to display more details.
If you want to view the I/O latency in a real-time graph, select
From LUN Real Time Statistics, click Add Graph, select Total Latency, and click OK.
You can view the IOPS data from the LUNs page.
You can select to display more details.
If you want to view the IOPS in a real- time graph, select
From LUN Real Time Statistics, click Add Graph, select Total IO Per Second, and click OK.
By checking latency, and IOPS, on the LUNs, the administrator determines if the performance changed and is acceptable after adding the application.
