Manage Port Provisioning for a Controller

You can change the port protocol at the Controller level. You can also specify whether the Ethernet ports are to be aggregated into a single link and the aggregation priority.

The system allows you to change port provisioning while the system is running. The system applies the port provisioning to both nodes in a Controller pair.
Important! Do not change port provisioning unless you are prepared for all clients to temporarily lose access. Changing port provisioning restarts the controller pair. This is a system restart.

If you select the entire Controller, you can change the protocol supported by a slot. If the protocol is Ethernet, you can aggregate the ports into a single link.

If you select a Controller slot, you can change the protocol that the slot supports (affects all of the ports in that slot). If the slot supports Ethernet, you can change whether the all of the ports in the slot are to be aggregated.

If you select a particular port, you can change the protocol that the port supports. If the port supports Ethernet, you can change whether the all of the ports in the slot are to be aggregated.

  1. Navigate to System > Global Settings > Controller Ports.
  2. Select a Controller.
  3. Select Actions > Manage Port Provisioning.
  4. Select a Controller Slot Number and change the protocol properties as needed.
  5. Click OK.
Result:Any necessary changes are mirrored to the peer controller, and the system restarts.
