Modify a Controller Service Type

Modify the service type to define how the Controller cache is to be optimized in support of the SAN protocol.

1. Navigate to System > Hardware > Controllers.
   Result:The Controllers overview page displays the status summary of each Controller, the chassis, the comment, the service type, the failover Controller , temperature, and a summary of the FRUs and CRUs.
2. Select a Controller.
3. Select Actions > Modify Controller Service Type.
   Result:The Modify Controller Service Type dialog is displayed.
4. From the Desired Service Type field, select the desired service type.
   If you are adding or removing hardware, the Controllers must be shut down and powered off, disrupting data access to the system, so that the resources can be reallocated. If you are not adding or removing hardware, only a restart is needed.
5. Select one of the methods to shut down the Controllers.
6. Click OK.
