After staging a software package on the Pilot, you can update the system software. You can perform the update immediately or schedule the update for a later time.
Note: Perform the update operation as the Primary administrator and in an Administrator 1 role.
Important! When logged into the system as a support administrator, you can select individual components to update from the software module package. You can also select Always Install, Install if newer version, or Do not install. Contact Oracle Customer Support before installing individual software components.
Navigate to Support > Software and Firmware.
The summary page displays the software and firmware packages currently installed on the Drive Enclosures, Drives, Pilots, and Controllers, as well as any staged software and firmware packages.
Select Actions > Update Software.
(Optional) Select the individual software module you want to update, using the Install Action column at the top of the screen.
Valid options are:
Do not install
Install if newer version
Always Install
Important! Only update individual software modules under the direction of Oracle Customer Support.
Unless explicitly directed to select Restart and update software (disrupts data access) by the Read Me file, Release Notes, or Oracle Customer Support, select the option Update software without restarting system.
(Optional) Select any of the other options available in the Software Update Options pane.
Note: A software update validation errors message appears on the bottom of this page if you select an option that cannot be performed. You must clear any software update validation errors before proceeding. Some options will cause data access disruptions. Be sure to read each option carefully.
(Optional) To schedule your software update for a later time, click the Schedule tab and enter the time on which the system should perform the operation. You can schedule updates to occur within 72 hours.
Click OK.
Click Yes.
If you selected any of the upgrade options, you need to accept the agreements for all those options.
