When a new version of the Oracle VM Storage Connect Plug-In for Oracle Flash Storage Systems software is available, you can update your version of the plug-in software.
- Prerequisites:
The server name and IP address for the server upon which the Oracle VM Server and plug-in are installed.
Credentials to log in to the Oracle VM Server to install the plug-in software.
TCP port assignments for the plug-in to register and communicate with the Oracle VM Server.
- Download the installation package from the Oracle Technical Network (OTN).
- Extract the Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) package to the host containing the Oracle VM Server.
- Issue the following command to search for any previous versions of the plug-in:
rpm -qa | grep osc-oracle-oraclefs
- Issue the following command to remove any previous versions of the plug-in:
rpm -e osc-oracle-oraclefs-n.n.n.el6.noarch
- Launch the Oracle VM Manager and log in.
- Rediscover the Oracle VM Server upon which you performed the software update. To rediscover the Oracle VM Server, in Oracle VM Manager, on the Servers and VMs tab, right-click the Oracle VM Server, and then select Rediscover Server.

- Issue the command rpm -Uvh osc-oracle-oraclefs-n.n.n.el6.noarch.rpm, where n.n.n is the number of the updated software.
Result:The RPM performs the upgrade process automatically.
- Launch the Oracle VM Manager and log in, if necessary.
- Rediscover the Oracle VM Server upon which you performed the software update. To rediscover the Oracle VM Server, in Oracle VM Manager, on the Servers and VMs tab, right-click the Oracle VM Server, and then select Rediscover Server.
