Performing a Find Operation in Siebel High Interactivity

Siebel Find supports real-time database queries on a field-by-field basis. The Find functionality is independent of any search engine. The type of object that you choose from the Look In list determines whether you execute a Find or a Search operation.

Find results are filtered based on the user's Visibility ID. For more information on data visibility and access control, see the chapter about access control in Siebel Security Guide. Preview and Associate functionality is available for Find results if the Find results have been configured in Siebel Tools to display in the Find Results view.

To perform a Find operation in Siebel High Interactivity

  1. Select Search from the application-level menu.
  2. From the Look In list, select the Find category you want to search against.

The Find categories are listed first, and are separated from the Search categories by a dotted line. The Search For field is disabled when a Find category is selected.

  3. (Optional) Click Reset to clear the Find fields of the search criteria from the last Find operation.

Reset clears the search criteria from the UI, but retains the search criteria in the cache.

  4. Enter your search criteria in the category fields and then click Go.

The search criteria is saved until the next Find operation.

The Find results are displayed in the Find Results view under the Look In panel.

  5. Click the hyperlink to go to the results of your Find operation, or select the Preview button to preview the Find results.
