This document provides release notes for Oracle Communications IP Service Activator release 7.3 and 7.3.0.1.
The new features in this release of IP Service Activator are:
IP Service Activator release 7.3.0.1 introduces support for Layer 2 (L2) Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network (VPN) functionality. The following module and cartridges support this functionality:
This IP Service Activator module supports the model for designing and specifying configuration parameters for L2 MPLS VPN, including Pseudowire Emulation (PWE), also known as Virtual Leased Line (VLL), and Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) (LDP and BGP-based).
The MPLS L2 VPN cartridge is provided for IP Service Activator for Cisco devices that are running IOS XR, and supports VLL and VPLS (LDP and BGP based).
This allows you to rapidly create, modify, and delete MPLS L2 VPNs and their parts across the network.
The MPLS L2 VPN cartridge is provided for IP Service Activator for Juniper devices that are running JUNOS, and supports VLL and VPLS (LDP and BGP-based).
This allows you to rapidly create, modify and delete MPLS L2 VPNs and their parts across the network.
As of release 7.3.0.1, IP Service Activator introduces support for the NetConf protocol, which is supported by multiple network equipment manufacturers. The IP Service Activator Software Development Kit (SDK) contains a new sample NetConf cartridge, created for Juniper JUNOS-based physical or virtual network functions. Using this sample cartridge, you can extend IP Service Activator by creating and deploying new vendor cartridges based on the NetConf protocol.
The Huawei cartridge has been up-versioned. Cartridge unit functionality has been removed and an improved functionality has been introduced.
The new feature in this release of IP Service Activator is:
IP Service Activator introduces support for Oracle Database and WebLogic 12c.
This support includes:
Oracle Database Server 12c and 11g
IP Service Activator 7.3.0.1 includes all fixes up to and including release 7.2.0.8.2. For more information, see IP Service Activator Release Notes 7.2.
Juniper M-Series device driver has been deprecated as of the IP Service Activator release 7.3, and has been fully replaced by Juniper M-Series cartridge support.
No additional features are deprecated in release 7.3.0.1.
