Assigning Resources to an Activity or Task

An owner is assigned to an activity or task from the Roadmap page. To assign a new owner, do the following:

  1. Select a project and navigate to the Projects roadmap page (Project #) > Go To > Roadmap.
  2. From the Roadmap page, select the activity or task.
  3. From the Actions menu select Edit > Resources. The resource currently assigned to this activity or task is displayed.
  4. Assign an existing team member to the activity or click the Add Resource button to add a new resource to this activity or task.
  5. Choose a project role for the new resource.
  6. Select a new resource from the drop-down menu. You may only choose from the list of current project team members.
  7. Enter the Percentage Allocation. You can also choose the role of this resource.
  8. Enter the Plan and Actual Percent Availability.
  9. Enter the Plan Overtime Effort in hours. Planned and actual overtime are part of the total effort and cannot exceed the total effort.
  10. Click the Save button. A new resource is now added to your activity or task.

    Note: If the administrator, while creating the activity template, chose to enforce ownership of a task or roadmap by role, only the project manager or users assigned to the chosen roles may be assigned to the task or roadmap. Contact your administrator for details.
