Release 18.0

This document highlights the major changes for Release 18.0 of Oracle Retail Xstore Suite.

Overview

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite 18.0 includes the products below.

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service is a point-of-sale application that provides the capabilities to carry out day-to-day transactions and conduct daily store activities. Tasks such as scanning items, applying price adjustments, tendering, and printing receipts as well as processing returns and web orders can be performed. Store operations including opening the store, managing registers and tills, and closing the store can be handled through Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service.

As part of Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service, these release notes include information about Xstore Point of Service Mobile and Xenvironment.

Oracle Retail Xstore Office

Oracle Retail Xstore Office is a central web-based management console that provides for the facile management of the data and configurations that empower your associates. The user interface within Oracle Retail Xstore Office provides streamlined functionality that guides users through configuration changes, data changes, and deployments. Granular security access can create a custom experience for users of all access levels. Multiple support tools and alerts enable IT leaders to take a proactive approach to managing multiple installations.

Functional Enhancements

The following functional enhancements are included in this release.

Configuration Accelerators

The following Configuration Accelerators are now supported in Xstore POS and Xstore Mobile POS:

  • Austria

  • Poland

Brazil Configuration Accelerator

The file-based integration with the third party is now replaced with a Web Service integration.

Italy Configuration Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Italy.

Registratore Telematico and Registratore Telematico Server

The Registratore Telematico (RT) or the Registratore Telematico Server (RTS) can now be used in addition to the Fiscal Printer (FP).

Electronic Invoice

The XML file is now provided for the authorities. For this purpose, the Identification Code (IC) and/or the certified e-mail address (PEC) can be entered when an invoice is created.

Xstore Accessibility

Xstore Point of Service, Xstore Mobile, Xenvironment and Xstore Office are accessible now.

Xstore Point of Service Enhancements

Xstore Point of Service 18.0 added the following functionality:

Airside Enhancements

The following enhancements have been made to airside functionality in Xstore POS.

Skip Flight Information

If this option is enabled, the flight information can be skipped for an Airside sale.

Returns with Original Boarding Pass

If this option is enabled, Airside sale items can only be returned providing the boarding pass of the original transaction.

Item Selection

The Item Selection User Interfaces enables a retailer to use a button grid to select configurable menu options and items.

Self Checkout Mode

To avoid queues at a manned Xstore POS, Xstore has a Self-Checkout (SCO) mode. In this mode, it will enable customers to use Xstore to scan their own items and pay for the sale.

It uses exactly the same hardware as standard Xstore manned register mode, and this helps reduce cost.

It uses exactly the same Xstore software, but operating with a simplified UI, a reduced set of functions and some SCO specific configurations.

Require Scanning Items

If this configuration is enabled, Xstore Point of Service forces the user to scan an item before adding it to the transaction during the following functions.

  • Item Lookup

  • Wish List

  • Digital Cart List

  • Store Pick Up of ordered items (omnichannel orders)

  • Picking/reserving an item for an order

Item Lookup Shows On Hand Quantity

The on hand quantity is now displayed in the Item Lookup Search Results screen.

Displaying Item Messages

Xstore Point of Service displays item messages during the checkout process. If enabled, multiple item messages per item can be displayed.

Tax Free Sales

New refund methods are now available.

Xstore Mobile Point of Service Enhancements

Xstore Mobile POS functionality has been extended to include the following in version 18.0.

Xstore Reports

All Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service desktop reports are also available on the Xstore Mobile Tablet.

Xenvironment Enhancements

The 18.0 version of Xenvironment includes the following enhancements:

Start Self Checkout Mode

The menu option Start Self-Checkout Mode to start the Self-Checkout mode of the Xstore Point of Service application has been implemented in Xenvironment.

Capture Logs

The Capture Logs can now be downloaded by using any web browser.

Xstore Office Enhancements

The 18.0 version of Xstore Office includes the following enhancements:

Xadmin UI

The Xadmin UI has been enhanced for version 18.0.

Selecting An Organization

If a user is associated to more than one organization, an organization needs to be selected at login and when a user role is created.

Dashboard Report

A Dashboard Report is now available in Xadmin. The dashboard shows enterprise data for a single store, as a static page.

Configurator

This section describes the enhancements to the Configurator.

Pick Slip Scanning

A system configuration to enable or disable the printing of a pick slip per register has been added in Xadmin.

Scanning Items before Adding to Transaction

A system configuration to scan an item prior to adding it to the transaction has been added in Xadmin.

Data Manager

This section describes the enhancements to the Data Manager.

Item Restrictions

Item restrictions can be associated with merchandise levels in Xadmin now.

Item Type Restrictions

Item type restrictions, like time frames in which certain items are sold, the minimum required customer age to purchase, and minimum required cashier age to sell, can be maintained in Xadmin.

Item Messages

Item messages can be maintained in Xadmin now.

Configuration Accelerator

The following Configuration Accelerator enhancements are supported in 18.0.

Properties

For the configuration accelerator Italy you can associate the Tax Exemption reason code to the country specific exemption code in the Properties tab.

Fiscal Tax ID

The tax authority specific fiscal tax ID can be added to the selected tax group rule.

Legal Entities

Legal entities can be maintained in Xadmin and associated to the stores to be used for invoices, and to a number of data exports.

Technical Enhancements

This section addresses the technical enhancements included in Oracle Retail Xstore Suite System Release 18.0.

Middleware

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Release 18.0 is supported for use with the following Middleware components:

  • Tomcat 9.0.11

  • Jetty 9.4.11

  • Oracle WebLogic Server 12.2.1.3

Xstore Point of Service

Xstore Point of Service has the following technical enhancements.

Fiscal Printers

Xstore Point of Service supports the following fiscal printers:

  • Fiscal Printers:

  • Custom K3-F (Italy)

  • Epson FP81/90 (Italy)

  • Epson FP90 III RT (Italy)

  • Epson FP90 III RTS (Italy)

  • UPOS FP-T88FVA (Poland)

Displays

Xstore Point of Service supports the following displays:

  • MICROS Line Display

Receipt Printers

Xstore Point of Service supports the following receipt printers:

  • Epson TM-88VI

RFID

Xstore Point of Service supports the following devices for RFID:

  • Infinite Peripherals MaglinQ Device Support for RFID - tablet and handheld only

  • Zebra DS9808-R Scanner - desktop and WS610

Xstore Mobile POS

Xstore Mobile POS has the following technical enhancements.

Operating Systems

Xstore Mobile POS supports iOS12 on iPod Touch 6th Gen and iPad Mini 4.

Mobile Devices

Xstore Mobile POS is now supported on the Oracle DT WS721 7-inch tablet.

Known Issues

The known issue below is present in this release.

Application Known Issue/Defect
Xstore Office The Omnichannel Data Service (OCDS) system settings as well as the Data Source option within the Data Publisher are in development and tied to non-existent current functionality.

Oracle Retail VAR Applications

The following restrictions and provisions only apply to the programs referred to in this section and licensed to you. You acknowledge that the programs may contain third party software (VAR applications) licensed to Oracle. Depending upon your product and its version number, the VAR applications may include:

(i) the MicroStrategy Components developed and licensed by MicroStrategy Services Corporation (MicroStrategy) of McLean, Virginia to Oracle and imbedded in the MicroStrategy for Oracle Retail Data Warehouse and MicroStrategy for Oracle Retail Planning & Optimization applications.

(ii) the Wavelink component developed and licensed by Wavelink Corporation (Wavelink) of Kirkland, Washington, to Oracle and imbedded in Oracle Retail Mobile Store Inventory Management.
