Release 18.0.2

F29359-01

April 2020

This document highlights the major changes for Release 18.0.2 of Oracle Retail Xstore Suite.

Overview

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite 18.0.2 includes the products below.

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service is a point-of-sale application that provides the capabilities to carry out day-to-day transactions and conduct daily store activities. Tasks such as scanning items, applying price adjustments, tendering, and printing receipts as well as processing returns and web orders can be performed. Store operations including opening the store, managing registers and tills, and closing the store can be handled through Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service.

As part of Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service, these release notes include information about Xstore Point of Service Mobile and Xenvironment.

Oracle Retail Xstore Office

Oracle Retail Xstore Office is a central web-based management console that provides for the facile management of the data and configurations that empower your associates. The user interface within Oracle Retail Xstore Office provides streamlined functionality that guides users through configuration changes, data changes, and deployments. Granular security access can create a custom experience for users of all access levels. Multiple support tools and alerts enable IT leaders to take a proactive approach to managing multiple installations.

Hardware and Software Requirements

See the Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Implementation and Security Guide for information about the following:

  • Hardware and software requirements

  • Oracle Retail application software compatibility

Functional Enhancements

This section addresses the functional enhancements included in Oracle Retail Xstore Suite System Release 18.0.2.

Italy Configuration Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the country pack Italy.

Lottery

The Lottery function has been implemented in Xstore POS. This function enables retailers to offer customers the possibility to join the lottery.

France Configuration Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the country pack France.

Tax Free Invoices

The following changes have been implemented for tax free invoices (TFI):

  • Items on a TFI display the appropriate item classification as provided by the French customs.

  • Tenders on a TFI show the appropriate tender type classification as provided by the French customs.

  • The country code on a TFI is the ICAO.

  • The expiry date of the customer's identity document, for example the passport, is sent to the provider in the TFI request.

  • The nationality of the customer is sent to the provider in the TFI request.

Receipts and Invoices

Enhancements have been made regarding receipt reprints, receipt printout and invoices.

Poland Configuration Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the country pack Poland.

Invoicing/Tax Code

If an invoice is requested by the customer, the NIP code (tax code) can be captured during a sale transaction. The tax code is printed on the sale receipt and on the invoice. The invoice can also be issued at a later time through the corresponding Back office function. In this case, the tax code is the same as printed on the sale receipt and on the fiscal receipt.

Validating NIP Code

When you enter the tax code in the Customer Maintenance or Sale screen, Xstore validates if the format of the NIP code (tax code) is correct.

Germany Configuration Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the country pack Germany.

TSE (Technische Sicherheitseinrichtung) Configuration Screens

The TSE Configuration screens allow you to create and monitor TSE devices in your store. The TSE devices can then be associated with registers.

TSE Register Association Screen

The TSE Register Association screen allows you to associate Xstore registers to a TSE device. A register can only be associated to a single TSE device, while multiple registers can be associated to a single TSE device.

TSE Open/Close Screen

The TSE Open screen allows you to open a TSE device so that the device can be used with a register in your store. Registers can only be opened if their associated TSE device shows the status Open.

The TSE Close screen allows you to close the TSE device before you can close the store. All registers associated with the TSE device must be closed in order to close the TSE device. As part of the TSE closing procedure, the transaction data is copied to Xstore.

TSE Signature on Receipt

Xstore POS records start and end transaction events on the TSE device the register is associated with. In return Xstore POS receives a signature from the TSE device on transaction completion. This signature is then printed on the sale receipt.

TSE Extracting Data

The TSE Events Lookup screen allows you to lookup TSE data, extract it from the TSE device and store it for local authorities.

Taxed Vouchers

Voucher taxation was implemented. The voucher can be configured to be taxable or not. The enhancement includes downstream impacts such as receipt layout, tax calculation, tender exchange, journal reporting, tender accounting, and voucher serialization number management. For more information, see the Taxed Vouchers chapter in the Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Configuration Accelerator Guide.

Fiscal Receipt Splitting

In countries where fiscal printers are used and returns are allowed (currently only applicable to Italy), it is now possible to issue transactions with mixed sales and returns: the system will print two separate fiscal receipts. So the user is no longer forced to issue two separate transactions.

Technical Enhancements

This section addresses the technical enhancements included in Oracle Retail Xstore Suite System Release 18.0.2.

Middleware

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Release 18.0.2 is supported for use with the following Middleware components:

  • Tomcat 9.0.30

  • Jetty 9.4.27
