This document highlights the major changes for Release 19.0 of Oracle Retail Xstore Suite.
Oracle Retail Xstore Suite 19.0 includes the products below.
Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service is a point-of-sale application that provides the capabilities to carry out day-to-day transactions and conduct daily store activities. Tasks such as scanning items, applying price adjustments, tendering, and printing receipts as well as processing returns and web orders can be performed. Store operations including opening the store, managing registers and tills, and closing the store can be handled through Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service.
As part of Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service, these release notes include information about Xstore Point of Service Mobile and Xenvironment.
Oracle Retail Xstore Office is a central web-based management console that provides for the effortless management of the data and configurations that empower your associates. The user interface within Oracle Retail Xstore Office provides streamlined functionality that guides users through configuration changes, data changes, and deployments. Granular security access can create a custom experience for users of all access levels. Multiple support tools and alerts enable IT leaders to take a proactive approach to managing multiple installations.

This section addresses the functional enhancements included in Oracle Retail Xstore Suite System Release 19.0.
The following Configuration Accelerators are now supported in Xstore POS and Xstore POS Mobile:
Australia
Belgium
China
Japan
Switzerland
South Africa

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack France. See the Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Configuration Accelerator Guide for full details.
The Nomenclature des Activités Françaises (NAF) code is printed on receipts.
The invoice reference on credit notes includes the complete number of the original invoice including the prefix, for example, F072118000002.
The length of the terminal ID can be configured to meet the requirements of the retailer.
A new preflight check has been implemented. The preflight check validates if the following store properties are present:
Système Informatique pour le Répertoire des Entreprises sur le Territoire (SIRET)
Nomenclature des Activités Françaises (NAF)
Taxe sur la Valeur Ajoutée (TVA)
These properties are mandatory for the receipt printing.

The Xstore Suite now includes Traditional Chinese translations. For a complete list of the translated languages in the Xstore Suite, see the Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Implementation and Security Guide.
Xstore Point of Service functionality has been extended to include the following in version 19.0.
Xstore Point of Service offers the possibility to use a price list net of taxes based on the flight destination, simplifying price lists management and avoiding rounding problems.
Receipts can be now be printed using BI Publisher (BIP) reports, to produce better quality receipts to A4/A5 and in color, and enhance brand image.
The following invoice enhancements have been made:
invoice can be printed in local language
layout upgrade
enhanced resetting of invoice numbers
enhanced resetting invoice numbers for tax free invoices
Voucher taxation was implemented. The voucher can be configured to be taxable or not. The enhancement includes downstream impacts such as receipt layout, tax calculation, tender exchange, journal reporting, tender accounting, and voucher serialization number management. Xstore Point of Service supports eWallet payments such as Alipay and WeChat Pay now, including the ability to void and refund these eWallet payments. This functionality is supported in the OPI core.
The tax free functionality integrates with the new Global Blue IC2 services. In the new integration, Xstore Point of Service uses a single Global Blue IC2 browser form to capture the Tax Free Invoice data.
Xstore POS and Xstore Office reprinting functions have been aligned:
Xstore can now reprint just the specified receipts associated to a transaction
Daily Report can now be reprinted (in both Xstore POS and Xstore Office)
Xstore POS Mobile functionality has been extended to include the following in version 19.0.
Xstore Point of Service Mobile allows retailers to run a store with Xstore Mobile devices (thin, tablet, handheld) only. At least one thin client or tablet must be available per store. The Xstore POS Mobile Only Store offers full cash and till functionality, the ability to open/close the store, full networked cash drawer capability, full 24/7 hour functionality, and full register accountability mode as well as full till accountability mode.
All of the desktop back office features are now available on Xstore Point of Service Mobile including: employee maintenance, scheduling, payroll and timecards; extended transaction maintenance for layaways and specials orders, gift registry setup and maintenance.
Note: Tablet and thin client offer the full functionality. Handheld offers less functionality due to the size restraint of the screen. |
Barcodes can be scanned by using the device camera on handheld and tablets now.
The Scan to Configure option allows you to scan a QR code to populate the device configuration details instead of manually entering them on every device.
The Quick Config feature enables you to quickly configure an Xstore Mobile device for use in a store.
The Change Server Configuration option enables you to easily switch to a different server, if the connection to the server has been lost.
Quick action buttons have been implemented providing quick access to functionality from either the Home screen or the Sale screen.
A new Customer Quick button has been enabled on Xstore Mobile tablet and thin client to enable an associate to work with a customer outside of a transaction, and record that interaction, whether reviewing products, building wish lists, recording comments or booking future appointments. The associate can easily move into a sales transaction for that customer without having to exit and log back into sales.
Selecting the top tab drops down the list of tabs. The tabs can be swiped left - to - right or vice versa to view each tab.
Xstore Office functionality has been extended to include the following in version 19.0.
You can reprint reports and receipts that are associated to a transaction from the Electronic Journal in Xstore Office.
The tax office and region codes can now be managed in Xstore Office for the Country Pack Poland.

The Fiscal Printer integration has been enhanced so that fiscal receipts match the exact rounding values on the Xstore transaction.

Oracle Retail VAR Applications
The following restrictions and provisions only apply to the programs referred to in this section and licensed to you. You acknowledge that the programs may contain third party software (VAR applications) licensed to Oracle. Depending upon your product and its version number, the VAR applications may include:
(i) the MicroStrategy Components developed and licensed by MicroStrategy Services Corporation (MicroStrategy) of McLean, Virginia to Oracle and imbedded in the MicroStrategy for Oracle Retail Data Warehouse and MicroStrategy for Oracle Retail Planning & Optimization applications.
(ii) the Wavelink component developed and licensed by Wavelink Corporation (Wavelink) of Kirkland, Washington, to Oracle and imbedded in Oracle Retail Mobile Store Inventory Management.
(iii) the software component known as Access Via™ licensed by Access Via of Seattle, Washington, and imbedded in Oracle Retail Signs and Oracle Retail Labels and Tags.
(iv) the software component known as Adobe Flex™ licensed by Adobe Systems Incorporated of San Jose, California, and imbedded in Oracle Retail Promotion Planning & Optimization application.
You acknowledge and confirm that Oracle grants you use of only the object code of the VAR Applications. Oracle will not deliver source code to the VAR Applications to you. Notwithstanding any other term or condition of the agreement and this ordering document, you shall not cause or permit alteration of any VAR Applications. For purposes of this section, "alteration" refers to all alterations, translations, upgrades, enhancements, customizations or modifications of all or any portion of the VAR Applications including all reconfigurations, reassembly or reverse assembly, re-engineering or reverse engineering and recompilations or reverse compilations of the VAR Applications or any derivatives of the VAR Applications. You acknowledge that it shall be a breach of the agreement to utilize the relationship, and/or confidential information of the VAR Applications for purposes of competitive discovery.
