Working with Program Control (WPCL)
Purpose: Use this menu option to assign an application area to a program for informational purposes.

How to display this screen: Enter WPCL in the Fast path field at the top of any menu or select Work with Program Control from a menu.

Program |
The name of the program you wish to assign to an application area. Enter a full or partial program code and select OK to display programs beginning with your entry. Alphanumeric, 10 positions; optional. |
Appl Area |
The application area assigned to the program. Enter a valid application area code and select OK to display programs assigned to the application area specified. Alphanumeric, 3 positions; optional. |
Description |
A description of the application area. Alphanumeric, 30 positions; display-only. |

Procedure |
Assign a program to an application area |
Select Create to advance to the Create Program Control Screen. |
Change the application area assigned to a program |
Select Change for a program control to advance to the Change Program Control screen. At this screen, you can change the Application area field. |
Delete the application area assignment |
Select Delete for a program control to delete it. The system displays the Confirm Delete window; select Delete to continue with the delete; otherwise, select Exit to cancel the delete. |
Review the application area assigned to a program |
Select Display to advance to the Display Program Control screen. You cannot change any information on this screen. |
Purpose: Use this screen to assign an application area to a program for informational purposes.
How to display this screen: Select Create at the Work with Program Control Screen.

The name of the program you wish to assign to an application area. Your entry cannot start with a number. Note: The system does not validate that the program name you enter is a valid program. Alphanumeric, 10 positions. Create screen: Required. Change screen: Display-only. |
Application Area |
The application area assigned to the program. Application area codes are defined in and validated against the Application Area table. Alphanumeric, 3 positions; required. |
