Creating Records

You can create records throughout the Siebel application using several methods, such as clicking a button or choosing an option from a menu. When you create a record, a new record appears, containing fields that you have to complete. The procedures in this topic show how to create records using some of the commands available throughout the application. You can use whichever method works best for you, or whichever method is available.

Some records contain read-only fields. Read-only fields are those in which you cannot enter data. You might not have user privileges that allow you to enter data in the read-only field, or the data might be automatically filled in by the Siebel application.

Note:

Not all users can create new records. Your ability to do so depends on the responsibilities given to you by your administrator.
