Siebel Installation Guide for UNIX > Requirements for Installing and Configuring Siebel Business Applications > Requirements for Installing and Configuring the Siebel Web Server Extension > Requirements for Stopping and Starting the Web ServerAt various points in the process of installing and configuring the Siebel Web Server Extension, you might be required to stop the Web server, perform certain tasks, and then restart the Web server. Or you might only have to restart the Web server. The SWSE Configuration Wizard also stops and starts the Web server automatically, as needed. For example, you have to stop the Web server before installing the current release as a migration installation, and you have to restart the Web server after completing this installation. Choosing the SWSE Configuration Wizard option to restart the Web server executes the following commands for supported Web servers:
NOTE: From now on, if you must manually restart the Web server instance for any reason, then use these commands or equivalent methods, such as using the administration console for the Web server.
