Enabling jQuery Charts

Optionally, for Siebel Business Applications that are deployed using Siebel Open UI, you can use jQuery Charts as a substitute for the NetCharts Server product described in this chapter. This feature is available in Siebel Innovation Pack 2015 and later. In the current release, only 2D and 3D bar charts are supported using JQuery Charts.

Customers can optionally configure Siebel Business Applications to use their own JavaScript charting libraries, to operate within the jQuery Charts framework. For more information about how to do this, see Configuring Siebel Open UI.

NOTE:  You can enable jQuery Charts at the enterprise level only, by setting a system preference as described in this topic. Siebel Business Applications that are deployed using high interactivity cannot use jQuery Charts. If you still have high interactivity applications that require charting functionality, then you must continue to use NetCharts Server instead of jQuery Charts.

Use the following procedure to enable jQuery Charts.

To enable jQuery Charts

  1. Log in to the Siebel application as the Siebel administrator.
  2. Navigate to the Administration - Application screen, then the System Preferences view.
  3. Query for EnableClientChart in the System Preference Name field.
  4. Specify the value of the System Preference Value field to TRUE.

Use the default value of FALSE to use NetCharts Server instead of jQuery Charts. For more information about setting system preferences, see Siebel Applications Administration Guide.

  5. Restart the Siebel services.
