This figure represents a simplified Calendar Server front-end and back-end configuration that uses two hosts. In this figure, the calendar clients are connected to the Calendar Server host through HTTP. This host accesses an LDAP database for user preference and authentication information. The Calendar Server front-end host also accesses the Calendar Server back-end host, which contains the calendar database and the iSchedule database. The document stores, one for each database, are located on separate hosts.
