Setting Up Security for Oracle Service Cloud Interfaces

Perform the steps in this section to set up data security for an Oracle Service Cloud source instance based on the Interfaces defined in the Oracle Service Cloud.

If you have registered Oracle Service Cloud as a source with Oracle BI Applications, you can use Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager to define data security policies to provision users with access to the Oracle Service Cloud data areas or interfaces.
To set up interface-based security, you must be assigned the BI role OBIA_CRM_SOURCE_INTERFACE_DATA
  1. From the Tasks bar in Oracle BI Applications Configuration Manager, select the Manage Data Security link.
  2. On the Manage Data Security page, click the Add icon to open the New Security Definition dialog.
  3. In the Source Instance drop down list, select the Oracle Service Cloud instance that you are deploying.
  4. In the Secure by Object drop down list, select Source Interface List.
Source Interface List is the data warehouse object for which you want to provide access.
  5. In the Users area, move the user or users that you want to provision from the left hand list to the right hand list.

    Tip:

To filter the list of users, enter the first few characters of the user name that you want to provision into the User Filter field.
  6. In the Values area, move the interfaces that you want users to access from the left hand list to the right hand list.

    Tip:

To filter the list of values, enter the first few characters of the interface name into the Value Filter field.
  7. Click OK to save the details.
Based on this security policy, provisioned users are allowed to access the Oracle Service Cloud interfaces.
