Oracle Identity & Access Management Setup Tasks

Oracle Identity & Access Management (IDM) is the term used to describe the identity management suite that you use to manage users in your cloud environment.

The following list describes all of the applications that are associated with IDM:

Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) – OIM is the front‐end interface that you use for user account management and administration.

Primavera Cloud Administration – Primavera Cloud Administration facilitates the creation and provisioning of user accounts in your cloud service.

Notes:

• You are unable to create, provision, and administer users natively in any application other than Primavera Cloud Administration or OIM. Use Primavera Cloud Administration to create and provision users and use OIM for other administration tasks, such as removing roles, editing user information, unlocking user accounts, disabling user accounts, and removing user accounts.
• Auditing and Reporting are not supported.

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) – OID is the directory store that maintains users and groups. All user information is stored in OID.

Oracle Access Manager (OAM) – OAM validates user credentials in OID. For example, when a user attempts to log in to a cloud environment, OAM will determine if that user has been assigned the appropriate access for that environment. After the user is authenticated, OAM redirects the user to the Welcome to 15.1 Applications page.
