36 UX One Role: Plant Manager (Release 9.2 Update)

This chapter discusses:

36.1 Understanding the Plant Manager UX One Role

The Plant Manager role, and the associated UX One pages and components, enable users to:

  • Understand and manage budget variance to reduce maintenance costs.

  • Optimize maintenance activities with greater visibility.

  • Monitor incidents to improve organization safety.

The Plant Manager pages enable users to receive important alerts, analyze data, and act on the information they see.

Note:

The information provided for you in this documentation describes a specific UX One role, and the associated pages and components, that were delivered.

You can use these role, pages, components, queries, grid formats, and form layouts as they are delivered, or you can modify them to more closely meet the requirements of your organization.

36.2 Prerequisites

Before using the Plant Manager role (PLANMGRJDE), and the components listed in this documentation, your system administrator must complete the steps to associate the user ID with the PLANMGRJDE role.

After this setup is complete, the users who log in with this role will automatically see the pages for their role when they log in to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system.

36.2.1 Prerequisite Reading

Before using the Plant Manager role, you should have a complete understanding of the components and applications that are accessible from the pages. Additional, essential information is provided in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Applications Product Costing and Manufacturing Accounting Implementation Guide. 36.3 Using the Plant Manager UX One Role

You use the Plant Manager role to access these UX One pages:

  • Plant Manager (P31001X|X|W31001XA)

  • Production Cost Variances (P31001X|W31001XB)

  • Maintenance Cost Performance (P13003X|W13003XE)

  • Maintenance Reliability (P13003X|W13003XC)

  • Plant Safety (P31001X|W31001XC)

  • Maintenance Work Order Load (P13003X|W13003XB)

36.3.1 UX One: Plant Manager Page

The Plant Manager page (P31001X|W31001XA) enables users to:

  • Receive alerts regarding safety incidents, nonconforming material, and production schedule threats.

  • Analyze production schedule threats, recent safety incidents, overdue preventive maintenance, and maintenance cost for a period.

  • Access programs to quickly and easily act on the information that is displayed on the page.

To access the UX One Plant Manager page, log in to the EnterpriseOne system using the Plant Manager role.

Watchlist Alerts

These alerts are based on EnterpriseOne programs. By default, the alerts are set up to use queries that are based on delivered demo data. Each of these queries is associated with a specific program version. To use a different query or call a different program version, you can modify these queries or create new queries that better meet your requirements. Additionally, these watchlists have been set up with specific warning and critical threshold values. You can adjust these values to meet your requirements.

This alert is based on the One View Incident Summary Inquiry program (P54HS220).

Severe Safety Incidents This alert tells users the number of severe safety incidents associated with their team.

This alert is based on the One View Incident Summary Inquiry program (P54HS220).

When you click the alert, the system displays the One View Incident Summary Inquiry form. The following form layout is available:

  • Review Incidents

The following grid format is available:

  • Simple

Nonconforming Material This alert tells users the number of test failures waiting for disposition.

This alert is based on the Work With Nonconforming Test Results program (P3703).

When you click the alert, the system displays the Work With Nonconforming Test Results form. The following form layout is available:

  • Supply and Demand Inquiry

Schedule Threats - Production This alert tells users the number of supply/demand conditions that threaten production schedule.

This alert is based on the One View Planning Analysis Inquiry program (P48290).

When you click the alert, Order and Expedite, Expedite, and Increase message types are displayed on the One View Planning Analysis Inquiry form. The following form layout is available:

  • Where Used Diagram

Additionally, you can use the drop-down menu on the top of the chart to change the data that the system displays. You can select one of these options:

Maintenance Cost (P09217X|W09217XF) Use this chart to view budgeted and actual amounts for a range of time periods.

This chart is based on the One View Account Balance Inquiry program (P09217).

Additionally, you can use the fields at the top of the chart to specify a time period.

To access the UX One Production Cost Variances page, log in to the EnterpriseOne system using the Plant Manager role. When you log in with this role, the system automatically displays the Plant Manager page. Click the Production Cost Variances task on the springboard to access the Production Cost Variances page.

The Maintenance Cost Performance page (P13003X|W13003XE) enables users to review analytical data about the cost associated with the equipment and work orders for your maintenance team.

To access the UX One Maintenance Cost Performance page, log in to the EnterpriseOne system using the Plant Manager role. When you log in with this role, the system automatically displays the Plant Manager page. Click the Maintenance Cost Performance task on the springboard to access the Maintenance Cost Performance page.

The Maintenance Reliability page (P13003X|W13003XC) enables users to receive alerts regarding overdue work orders and preventive maintenance records that require attention. The page also provides analytical data about the reliability of the equipment used by the maintenance team.

To access the UX One Maintenance Reliability page, log in to the EnterpriseOne system using the Plant Manager role. When you log in with this role, the system automatically displays the Plant Manager page. Click the Maintenance Reliability task on the springboard to access the Maintenance Reliability page.

The Maintenance Work Order Load page (P13003X|W13003XB) enables users to receive alerts about overdue work orders and preventive maintenance records that need attention. The page also provides analytical data about the incoming and completed work load, and aging statistics for the maintenance team.

To access the UX One Maintenance Work Order Load page, log in to the EnterpriseOne system using the Plant Manager role. When you log in with this role, the system automatically displays the Plant Manager page.
