Preview a Play Mode


After completing this topic, you will be able to preview a topic.


Steps:

  1. Open the WordPad Training module.

     

    Double-click the WordPad Training module.

  2. Expand the WordPad Training outline using the Expand button on the toolbar.

     

    Click the Expand button.

  3. Select the topic you want to preview in the outline.

     

    Click the Opening a Document topic.

  4. View the Preview options.

     

    Click the Preview list.

  5. In this example, you will preview the topic for Try It! mode.

     

    Click the Try It! Mode list item.

  6. Click the Go to button.

  7. You are prompted to select a browser for playback. This dialog box appears each time you preview or publish a Player deployment.

     

    You can however, choose to suppress this message.

     

    Note: If you suppress the message and later want it to appear, select Reset Dialogs in the Options dialog box.

  8. Suppress this message.

     

    Click the Do not ask me again option.

  9. Click the OK button.

  10. The topic is generated and opens. To start the preview in Try It! mode you must click the start link or press the [Enter] key.

     

    In this example, click the start link.

  11. During Try It! mode playback, a bubble and a highlight indicate the action the user should take.

     

    Click the File menu.

  12. The preview advances to the next step in Try It! mode.

     

    You can press ENTER to quickly advance through each screen if the Enable skipping in Try It! mode option is enabled. However, before the content is published, you may want to turn this option off.

  13. The playback can also be controlled by the Actions link.

     

    Click the Actions link to view playback options.

  14. The Actions link options appear. At this point the end user can choose from several options to control the topic playback.

  15. You can use the Close Topic link or press the [Esc] key to exit the topic playback at any time.

     

    Click the Close Topic link to exit the topic preview.

  16. The topic playback ends and the outline is redisplayed.
