Add Silence

After completing this topic, you will be able to add silence to the waveform.

Steps:

1. You feel that the spacing between the narration of two sentences is rushed. Add one second of silence between the sentences. Insert the selection point at the end of the first sentence.

    

   Click in the waveform.

   Step 1

2. Add silence to the selection point position.

    

   Click the Options button.

   Step 2

3. Click the Add Silence command.

   Step 3

4. Select the seconds section of the duration.

    

   Click the 05 seconds.

   Step 4

5. Use the spinbox to add one second of silence.

    

   Click the Down button.

   Step 5

6. Click the OK button.

   Step 6

7. The silence is inserted at the selection point position.

   Step 7

8. We have changed the zoom on the waveform.

    

   After inserting silence, you can listen to the narration to determine if you need to add or reduce the silence between the sentences.
