Record Paths in a Decision Frame


After completing this topic, you will be able to record paths in a Decision frame.


Steps:

  1. Add a Branch path to the Decision frame.

     

    Click the Insert menu.

  2. Click the Decision Path command.

  3. Click the Branch button.

    Step 3

  4. Enter a name for the new branch path. Enter "Text Document".

    Step 4

  5. Click the OK button.

    Step 5

  6. The Recorder opens.

     

    Before recording the Decision path, you should set up the application at the screen where the Decision frame offers a choice.

     

    We have opened the Customer.rtf file in WordPad and opened the Save As dialog box for you.

    Step 6

  7. Activate the Save As dialog box.

     

    Click the Save As dialog box title bar.

  8. You will record the steps to save the document in a text document format.

    Step 8

  9. Press [PrintScreen] to start the recording.

  10. Perform the first action, which is to select the Save as type list button.

     

    Click the Save as type list button.

  11. Press [PrintScreen] to record the action.

    Step 11

  12. Perform the second action, which is to select the Text Document type.

     

    Click the Text Document list item.

  13. Press [PrintScreen] to record the action.

  14. Click the Save button.

  15. Press [PrintScreen] to record the action.

  16. Perform the next action, which is to select the Yes button.

     

    Click the Yes button.

  17. Press [PrintScreen] to record the action.

  18. End the recording.

     

    Click the Finish button.

  19. The Recorder closes. The Topic Editor displays the new path in the Decision frame and the new branch path added to the frame structure.

  20. After adding a new path, check the new frames for the desired action areas and object names.

     

    Click the first F frame in the new path.

  21. The decision path includes the steps to save the file as a text document.
