After taking an assessment in the Player, Knowledge Center, or LMS, an Assessment Summary page may appear if it is enabled. This page displays the assessment results, which include the number of questions in the assessment and the number questions answered correctly, along with the user's score as a percentage.

The Assessment Summary page also includes a Section Summary and Response Summary. The Section Summary displays a breakdown of each document (module, section, or topic) directly linked to the same parent as the assessment and the user's score as a percentage for each. A correctly answered question is scored as 100% and a failed question as 0%. Therefore, if a user correctly answers 3 out of 4 questions linked to a section, the pass percentage for that section would be 75%. The Response Summary displays a list of the questions indicating if they were answered correctly or incorrectly. After viewing the results, users can print this page.

In deployment methods that include content tracking, users can return to the Assessment Summary page at any time in post-assessments and inline assessments by selecting the assessment in the outline and clicking the Show Summary link in the Concept pane. If content is deployed without tracking, the summary page results are not available once the user selects another outline item.

Note: The section breakdown and score is based on linking the outline documents to the Associated Content property for questions. If assessment questions are not linked to the content, the Assessment Summary page does not include a Section Summary.

You can choose to show or hide the Assessment Summary page in the Player using the Summary property on the Properties toolpane for the assessment. If the Summary is hidden, the Assessment Summary page does not appear upon completion of an assessment, nor can a user access it later.

Assessment Summary Page in the Professional Edition

The Assessment Summary page appears after the user takes a pre- or post-assessment. You can, however, use the Manager in the Knowledge Center to disable the appearance of the summary page for a pre-and/or post-assessment.

In addition to providing assessment results, the Assessment Summary page in the Professional edition of the Knowledge Center provides options for taking personalized content and selecting the content to be included. If the section score falls below the passing score set for the assessment, the section content is required for the personalized content and cannot be excluded. Conversely, if the section score meets or exceeds the passing score, the user can optionally add the section that they passed for additional learning reinforcement.

Since content is tracked in the Professional edition, users can return to a completed Assessment Summary page to view or print the results.

See Activity Properties in the Create a Knowledge Path section in the Manage Knowledge Paths chapter of the User and Content Management guide for more information on Summary Page options in the Knowledge Center.
