Users with appropriate permissions (e.g., project managers, finance representatives) can enter monthly project savings and costs (both hard dollar and soft dollar) at a detailed level, for up to 24/36/48 months from the start of the project.
To edit or enter data, navigate to the ProjectsFinances page by selecting (Project #) >Go To > Finances, or clicking the Finances link on the Left Navigation bar within a particular project.
Click on the Monthly tab. You may be able to view the finance data broken down by multiple factors (monthly, weekly etc.) by selecting from a pull down menu. You can also choose to view the sub-categories by using the Yes/ No radio buttons. If your system is configured to track finances on a yearly schedule, this tab may not be available. If you are entering an aggregate value for finances, the monthly tab may display a monthly break-down in a read only mode.
To edit finances for a particular category for all months select a financial category from the Edit Finances for Category pull-down menu. You will be able to enter data for each sub-category within that category, for all the months.
To edit finances for all categories and sub-categories for a particular month, select the month from the Edit Finances for Month pull-down menu.
To populate all appropriate fields with the same number, you can use the Copy Forward to... and the Current Year and All Months buttons on the Edit Finance for Category page.
Click Update to save your changes.

If the configuration of your system includes the concept of a 12-month finance window, that window can be adjusted within the overall project by changing the Financial Start Date (currently Jan/11/2003) in the Finance Lock Details page. See topic Modifying Financial Locks.
If you are entering financial information on a monthly or a yearly schedule, the aggregate values will be calculated by the system and displayed in a read-only mode. If you are entering an Aggregate value, the system can display break-down values based on the settings defined by your administrator in a read-only mode. If you are unable to edit financial data for a particular period please contact your administrator.
