Configure API Gateway Node Managers and instances

This topic describes how to configure API Gateway on the appliance. The API Gateway Appliance ships with API Gateway software installed, however, you must perform some initial setup steps to configure and start a Node Manager and API Gateway instance.There are two different approaches, depending on your API Gateway domain:

API Gateway Appliance as Admin Node Manager – If this appliance is the first server in a new API Gateway domain, configure the appliance as an Admin Node Manager.
API Gateway Appliance as local Node Manager – If this appliance is the second or subsequent server, and will connect to an existing API Gateway domain, configure the appliance as a local Node Manager.

Caution For security reasons, a new administrator user must be created the first time the managedomain script is run to create the domain.
