Managing Event Notifications

Create event notifications so that certain individuals can be notified when specific Oracle FS System events occur. You can display the details of an event and make changes as needed. You can also test notifications to make sure that the specified email addresses are correct.

Event notifications are Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) email messages that notify recipients of specified system events. System events include informational events, warning events, and critical events such as the creation of a logical volume or the occurrence of a hardware problem or software problem. Event notifications are optional and, when enabled, supplement normal event logging and Call‑Home notification.

You must designate one or more email recipients to receive event notifications. You must have a configured and functioning email server to send the notifications.
Note: The email server is also used to notify recipients of any Call‑Home notifications.
